South Korean baritone Changhan Lim graduated from Chung-Ang University in Korea before moving to France to continue his studies at CNR Rueil-Malmaison‚ CNR Boulogne-Billancourt and CNIPAL (Centre National d’Insertion Professionelle d’Artistes Lyriques) in Marseille.

He has won awards in many international singing competitions‚ was a Laureate of the 2008 Queen Elisabeth Singing Competition and was awarded 3rd prize in the Shizuoka International Opera Competition.

Current and future plans include Silvio I Pagliacci (Opera Holland Park)‚ Enrico L’isola disabitata (Royal Opera House on tour to Hobart Festival‚ Australia)‚ title role Don Giovanni (Diva Opera)‚ Ping Turandot (Opera National de Lorraine)‚ Count Le Nozze di Figaro (Festival Opera New Zealand) and Germont Pere La Traviata for Fujiwara Opera‚ Japan.

He joined the Jette Parker Young Artists Programme in September 2008 and made his Royal Opera debut as Hermann Les Contes d’Hoffmann (Pappano)‚ followed by Marullo Rigoletto (Oren)‚ Silvano Un ballo in maschera (Benini) and Fiorello Il barbiere di Siviglia (Pappano). He also covered Ping Turandot (which he sang at the public dress rehearsal) and Belcore L’elisir d’amore. Further roles for ROH include Flemish Deputy Don Carlo‚ Morales Carmen‚ Wood Spirit Tsarina’s Slippers and Marquis d’Obigny La traviata as well as covering Ramiro L’heure espagnole‚ Schaunard La bohème and Lescaut Manon.

Roles elsewhere include Escamillo Carmen (Opera National de Lorraine‚ Nancy)‚ Marquis d’Obigny (ROH in Japan)‚ Scarpia Tosca and title role Nabucco (Diva Opera and Ramfis Opera)‚ Marcello La Boheme in Korea Scarpia and Tosca ‚ Marcello La bohème‚ Escamillo Carmen‚ Alfio Cavalleria rusticana‚ Sprecher Die Zauberflöte and Teseo Fedra (Festival Radio France‚ Conducted by E Mazola).

Oratorio includes Haydn The Creation‚ Fauré Requiem (Cond.by S.Baudo) and Carmina Burana (his Salle Pleyel Debut with L’Orchestre national d’Ile de France) in Paris‚ and he has sung in concerts and recitals over Europe including Paris‚ Nice‚ Saint-Jean-de-Luz‚ Lyon‚ Montpellier‚ Brussels‚ Naples and London.
